Donyale Luna for Paco Rabanne 1960’s.

I was looking for some images of Paco Rabanne’s work as it represents what  .play blog is all about….art/design/experimentation in fashion and for the body. I was so excited when I found that bi-annual magazine Industrie, which is ‘a magazine dedicated to the culture of fashion and snapshots of the personalities and moments which shape our industry,’ have featured his archive in their 1st Issue.

French/Spanish fashion designer Paco Rabanne started off his career designing jewellery for Givenchy, Dior and Balenciaga before setting up his own fashion house in 1966. His work was revolutionary, merging the boundaries between jewellery and fashion, pioneering the use of “unconventional materials” such as paper, plastic and metal and making chain mail sexy at a time where nudity and sexuality were becoming more accepted in Society.

His work continues to inspire today and still looks so fresh.  Photographer Richard Bush and Stylist Sarah Richardson have done him huge justice with this beautiful editorial for Industrie Magazine. http://www.industriemagazine.com
